More landscapes...

Here are some landscape practices referenced from photos, 1 piece each day. The purpose of this exercise is.. I think... to train your eyes to capture colours information, and putting these information onto canvas using big brush strokes. Details are secondary, cause if you look at things from a distance, you cant really see details except for blocks of colours. Creating mood is the key here. So each piece aren't meant to take very long to be considered done.. however, i always find myself zooming in and starting to render details, thus spending more time on these then i really should. Gotta look at the big picture... gotta be more discipline.

Self advertisement...

I been missing for quite while. Finally... here's some updates. Recently I was commissioned to draw some portraits of a client, with few different expressions. But I'm only allowed to show one of them, so to do abit of shameless self advertisement... who knows it can bloom into a business... here it is.So, if you want, or if you know of anyone know of anyone, be it your family, relatives, friends, friend's friend and so on, who wants to get his/her portrait drawn, you know who to look for! I do full color portraits too, at a reasonably cheap price!

And here's a couple of pieces I did for the bi-weekly activities over at CGHub...

The NeverEnding Story Cover design and...

Yoda drawing competition with a twist. I did a young version of him, kinda weak and lame....
That's all folks! Till the next post!

My work attire...

This is what I was wearing this morning to work. A t-shirt, shorts, and a pair of flip flops. Those who know me well enough would know that this is how I dress to work 99% of the working days. Those who don't know what I work as would probably think I'm working odd jobs, or probably still studying, or probably just jobless and slacking around. 'What kind of company would allow their staff to come to work in that sloppy attire huh?', they would think, 'Hmmm, maybe he works in a comic shop as cashier or something. Aiya, must be some low paying odd job la.' But you know what? The freedom to wear whatever I feel like wearing is 1 of the reason why I love what I'm doing. Who needs pants and shirts and ties, and uniforms, in this hot singapore weather. I like to dress like I'm going out to chill with friends. I wouldn't change that, not even if I was offered a salary 100 times higher than what I'm getting now, to go work in a corporate company, or become a sales person. However, if it's only for a week, I might consider....IF IT'S 100 TIMES MY CURRENT PAY. Yep, I'm not working odd jobs. I got a full time job, a working professional.
